Nominees for Week 5 spring sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, will continue through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending April 22.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

BRODY BARNUM, SKYVIEW BASEBALL: Barnum threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts against Heritage and went 4 for 4 with a home run over two games.

TREVOR BUSHMAN, UNION BOYS TRACK AND FIELD: Bushman set a season-best in Class 4A in the pole vault by clearing 14-10 in a meet against Battle Ground.

LEVIU CROITOR, FORT VANCOUVER BOYS SOCCER: The goalkeeper led the Trappers to a pair of league wins, including a shutout against Evergreen.

MERI DUNFORD, PRAIRIE GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD: The freshman won the 1,500 meters at the Centennial Invitational in 4:46.60, a personal best by 10 seconds.

KENNEDY FERGUSON, CAMAS SOFTBALL: Ferguson pitched the Papermakers to three league wins, allowing one run over 19 innings with 31 strikeouts.
