The win improved the Chieftains to 9-0 in league, giving River a three-game lead over second-place R.A. Long (6-3) and Ridgefield (6-3) with three matches to play.

Marcos Diaz added a goal for River, and Chandler Bolte scored on a penalty kick in the second half that proved to be the different for River, which led 3-1 at halftime.
