TACOMA — A body recovered from a Washington river is believed to be a man who went missing while fishing with his family.

KCPQ-TV reports the body was found on Wednesday in the Puyallup River.

The 46-year-old man was fishing with his family May 28 when he fell into the water and was swept downstream.

The search for him was called off three days later.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department states the man didn’t know how to swim and was not wearing a flotation device.

Police say he was fishing on the bank of the river in Sumner when he fell in.
