Girls basketball: Hudson’s Bay 49, Stevenson 48

Freshman Kamelai Powell had 13 points and 12 rebounds including a key rebound late to seal the non-league victory.

Bay opened the second half with a 20-0 run to lead 42-20, but then Stevenson ate away at the lead.

The Eagles were at the free-throw line with five seconds to go and leading 49-48. Bay missed the free throw, but Powell got the offensive rebound to seal the win.

Jaydia Martin, also a freshman, led Bay with 17 points, seven rebounds, seven steals and five blocks.

Katie Rathgeber had 27 points and eight steals to pace Stevenson. Ashley Brannan had nine rebounds, and Peighton Campbell with four assists.
