A 51-year-old motorcyclist was seriously injured in a Tuesday afternoon crash near Evergreen High School, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

The man was riding east on East 18th Street at about 4:35 p.m. when he either lost control of his bike or struck the center median in the 14100 block, according to Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp.

Kapp said the man, whose name was not released, had reportedly been speeding and weaving in and out of traffic prior to the crash.

The man suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital, Kapp said.
