Vancouver – Educational Service District 112’s communications and prevention teams received a national public relations award for its marijuana prevention project.

The Golden Achievement Award from the National School Public Relations Association recognizes the Weed Can Wait marijuana prevention project targeting people aged 12 through 20. The program was developed with a Department of Health grant, and features a social media campaign, pop-up parties at five schools and advertising at marijuana stores and on buses.

To win the award, ESD 112 had to demonstrate thorough research, analysis, communication and evaluation of the project.
