Ryan Josephson has been hired as the head boys basketball coach at Camas High School, Camas athletic director Rory Oster announced Friday.
Josephson takes over for Skyler Gillispie who stepped down last month to take a job as an assistant coach at Western Washington University.
Josephson, a 2002 Camas High School graduate, has served as lead assistant varsity coach and junior varsity coach at Camas for the past four seasons, helping lead the Papermakers to the regional round of the state tournament for the first time in 50 years during the 2014-15 season.
“This coaching opportunity represents a lifelong dream,” Josephson said. “I have deep roots in this community that extend back over 20 years. Not only do I live and teach in our town, but I was also a student-athlete for Camas High School. This basketball program has done so much to shape me into the man I am today. I consider it the highest honor to continue this tradition.”
