The Vancouver Fire Department is investigating a fire Saturday at a duplex in the Maplewood neighborhood.

The fire broke out at 2511 E. 20th St. at around 12:30 p.m., according to fire officials. The first fire engines arrived soon after and controlled the blaze, though several engines responded as backup.

Fire officials said that a heater in the bathroom may have played a part, but they are still investigating. The duplex is reportedly home to two special needs persons and their caregivers, they said.

No one was injured. The American Red Cross Cascades Region also responded and offered assistance.
