WASHOUGAL — The eighth annual Washougal Festival of Trees will run 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Hathaway Elementary School, 630 24th St., Washougal.

The festival, presented by the Washougal Lions Foundation, features pre-decorated Christmas trees created by school and community groups to be silent-auctioned to the highest bidder. There is also a silent auction and raffle for gift baskets donated by local businesses, individuals and organizations.

The funds will be distributed to Washougal schools based on their level of participation in the event. It will be up to the schools to figure out what they use the money for. Previously, event funds were used for science supplies, field trip scholarships and art materials.

There is also a breakfast and photos with Santa from 9 a.m. to noon. Photos with Santa are $3 each.
