Nominees for Week 4 fall sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 30.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

EMMA JENKINS, CAMAS GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Jenkins posted the best time among local runners at Nike Portland XC, placing 15th in the Danner race in 18:31.

KARA NOFTSKER, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS SWIMMING: Noftsker posted state-qualifying times in wins in the 200 freestyle and 100 backstroke in a meet at Propstra Aquatic.

ELISE SCHEY, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN SOCCER: Schey had three goals in one game, two assists in another for Knights.

LAINNE WILKINS, PRAIRIE VOLLEYBALL: Wilkins had 25 assists and 35 assists in two league wins for the Falcons.

WILLIE YEH, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS GOLF: The freshman won the Prairie Invitational in a four-player playoff with a 35-foot birdie putt after shooting even-par 71.
