Nominees for Week 1 prep football player of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Tuesday

Nominees for high school football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 2. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Tuesday with results published in Wednesday’s Columbian.

MICHAEL GARRISON, KING’S WAY CHRISTIAN: Garrison caught seven passes for 118 yards and three touchdowns and returned a fumbled for a touchdown in the Knights’ win over Fort Vancouver.

CARTER MORSE, HUDSON’S BAY: Morse caught four passes for 146 yards and a touchdown in Bay’s win over La Salle.

DRAKE OWEN, CAMAS: Owen caught 11 passes for 187 yards and two touchdowns in the Papermakers’ win over Central Catholic.

SAWYER RACANELLI, HOCKINSON: Racanelli caught nine passes for 206 yards and three touchdowns in the Hawks’ win over La Center.

MICHAEL TARAS, HERITAGE: Taras passed for 291 yards and one touchdown and had three touchdown runs in the Timberwolves’ win over Prairie.
