A Ridgefield man was killed in single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon in Salmon Creek.

According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, William Ray Ellis, 38, failed to negotiate a curve on Northeast 20th Avenue when driving near the 15400 block some time before 5 p.m.

Ellis’ Ford Escort left the roadway and rammed into a concrete barrier.

Ellis was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center with life-threatening injuries, the sheriff’s office said. He died at the hospital.

The sheriff’s office said its traffic unit was investigating the crash.
