Nominees for Week 3 fall sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian spring sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 23.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address, one vote per IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

HAILEY GROTTE, LA CENTER GIRLS SWIMMING: Grotte posted 2A state-qualifying times in the 200 free, 100 back, 50 free and 100 fly in two dual meets.

DANTE HEITSCHMIDT, PRAIRIE BOYS GOLF: Heitschmidt shot round of 38, 39 and a 2-under 34 in three wins for the Falcons.

AMELIA PULLEN, WASHOUGAL GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Pullen won the Skip SparkS XC Festival in Hood River in course-record time of 20:11.

DOLLY SUAREZ, EVERGREEN GIRLS SOCCER: Suarez had five goals and one assist in an 8-1 victory over Fort Vancouver.

EMMA SWETT, WOODLAND VOLLEYBALL: Swett had 45 assists, 13 digs and 12 kills in two league wins for the Beavers.
