Spanish immersion students celebrate Oscars by producing videos

Cascade Park West — Students in Amy Matsumoto’s Spanish I class in Wy’east Middle School’s Dual Immersion program were assigned a three-week unit on the Academy Awards, where they learned new vocabulary and used it to create videos. The videos premiered at their “Los Premios Oscars” event. Alexis Mathews won for her film, “Spanish Can Save Your Lives.” It will be used during seventh-grade forecasting for Spanish class. The students were also treated to a performance by the Folkloric Ballet of Southwest Washington.
