Letter: Firmly oppose tolls in Oregon

The state of Oregon is shamefully proposing tolling for Washington drivers who commute to jobs in Oregon. Apparently money is needed for infrastructure.

No money? What does Oregon do with the tax dollars Washingtonians already pay in income taxes? Former University of Oregon football coach Mike Bellotti receives $46,557 a month in PERS retirement payments. Many other retired state employees get huge payments. Taxpayers really suffer because of this sham; Oregon can’t even fund its schools properly.

This is a state that didn’t offer state employees a 401(k) plan. Its legislature put a terrible system in place that pays them after they retire.

No, we are not going to pay for this. Our representatives need to be very firm about this.
