Twenty-six regional artists will transform Washougal’s Reflection Plaza into an outdoor art gallery Saturday. It’s the third annual Washougal Art Festival.

“We are expecting another large turnout at this year’s festival,” said Janice Ferguson, president of the Washougal Arts and Culture Alliance. “Now in our third year, we have artists and community members who look forward to this annual event.”

On display and for sale by local makers will be a wide variety of artistic creations: watercolors and oil paintings, jewelry and ceramics, textiles and photography, fused glass and wood — even “found object robot art.” You can view the whole list of artists, and sample their works, on the website http://washougalarts.org. Many are returnees, but many others are new to the scene.

You can even purchase a signed, commemorative poster of the event, featuring a tremendously detailed, evocative painting titled “Sandhill Crane Over Steigerwald” by artist and leading local birder Wilson Cady. Cady’s airborne painting has been used in the advertising for this year’s festival. Previous-year posters are available too, for $20 each.
