Letter: Don’t demonize the other side

By Larry J. Coatney, Vancouver
Published: August 11, 2018, 6:00am

This is in response to Sarah Martin’s letter, “Agenda is boldly offensive” (Aug. 4, Our Readers’ Views).

I consider myself a conservative Republican, however Martin’s letter has shown me the light. I am evidently a racist, sexist, xenophobe, state-sanctioned child abductor, among other things. I did not know that.

I thank her for her thoughtful and well-reasoned analysis of approximately 50 percent of the American population.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
