Girls basketball: Hockinson 58, La Center 49

Emma Dietel scored 18 points and the Hawks had 22 steals in a home win.

Freshman Kylie Ritter had eight points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals. Adyson Dyer had nine rebounds and four steals.

Hawks coach Damon Roche said he switched his team’s full-court press at halftime. Hockinson (3-0) then outscored La Center 22-13 in the third quarter and led by as many as 16.

Taylor Stephens scored 21 points to lead La Center (0-2).
