A man arrested Monday for allegedly robbing a downtown Vancouver convenience store did so with a pellet gun, according to court records.

Zackery Angel Flores, 23, was arrested in connection with a Nov. 12 armed robbery of the Minit Mart Quick Stop, 1901 Kauffman Ave., and made his first appearance Tuesday in Clark County Superior Court.

He’s being held on suspicion of second-degree assault and first-degree robbery, according to court records. His bail was set at $200,000 in the robbery, but he’s being held without bail for a community custody violation.

According to a probable cause affidavit, the store clerk told police he was working in the back when a masked man with a handgun entered the store and at gunpoint demanded he open the register. The suspect took about $350 then left on foot.

On Friday, officers arrested Flores on an outstanding warrant. While detained, detectives interviewed Flores regarding the robbery.

According to court records, Flores admitted to the robbery, saying he entered the store masked and armed with a gray revolver pellet gun, matching the clerk’s account and surveillance video.

Flores’ arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 14.
