Nominees for Week 2 winter sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian winter sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Dec. 15.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

KERISSA ANDERSEN, EVERGREEN GIRLS BOWLING: Andersen averaged 188 over six games, including a season-best 279 in helping Evergreen to two league wins.

ALLISON BLAINE, HUDSON’S BAY GIRLS WRESTLING: Blaine beat Union’s Riley Aaamold to win the 135-pound division title at the Hammerhead Invitational in Bremerton.

GIDEON MALYCHEWSKI, CAMAS BOYS WRESTLING: Malychewski scored a takedown with nine seconds left to win in the 170-pound title at the Tri-State Invitational in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.

JASMINE MORGAN, SETON CATHOLIC GIRLS BASKETBALL: Morgan scored 25 and 22 points in a pair of non-league wins for the Cougars.

MICAH PAULSEN, HOCKINSON BOYS BASKETBALL: Paulsen scored a career-high 33 points, hitting seven 3-pointers, in a non-league win over Heritage.
