Junior Jasmine Shigeno hit a school-record eight 3-pointers, but it wasn’t quite enough for the Hawks to get a 2A GSHL road win.

“We got two clean looks in the final 10 seconds to win the game,” Hockinson coach Damon Roche said. “We went for the win with a 3 and missed, got the rebound, they knocked it out of bounds. Then we got another open look, but didn’t get it to fall.”

Shigeno finished with 26 points. Emma Dietel had 12 points on four 3-pointers, but fouled out early in the fourth quarter.

Hockinson hit just 2 of 12 free throws, while R.A. Long converted 15 of 26.

“That’s where we lost the game,” Roche said. “If we hit even 40 percent of our free throws, we win the game. But we’re young and we’ll learn.”
