East Mill Plain — A few upgrades at Evergreen Public Schools led to representatives from Clark Public Utilities presenting a check for nearly $90,000 to the district. Clark was at the district to give Evergreen a check for $89,290.28 for switching 12 lights in the Mill Plain Elementary School parking lot to LED lights, which are brighter and more energy efficient. The district also made heating and cooling improvements at the school. In addition to the rebate check from Clark, the upgrades are expected to save the district around $32,000 a year in energy costs.
