An 11-point halftime advantage for Prairie turned into a five-point deficit after three quarters and an eventual defeat in the 3A district tournament game at Puyallup High School.

“We played a phenominal first half of basketball,” Prairie coach Kyle Brooks said of his team’s 37-26 lead. “Timberline took advantage of some opportunities in the second half.”

Timberline outscored Prairie 23-7 in the third quarter, and made its free throws down the stretch to seal the victory.

Kam Osborn led the Falcons (16-6) with 18 points, and Dante Heitschmidt scored 11 points.

Prairie will face Peninsula at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Foss High School in a loser-out game.
