Letter: Columnist’s take is misguided

I wrote to columnist Jay Ambrose and asked why he supports the unethical President Donald Trump. He responded: “Trump is awful but the thing most threatening our democracy right now is all the people breaking every law and norm out there to get him.”

An interesting take. I suppose it’s not against the law to lie repeatedly, go to bankruptcy four times or be involved in 3,000 lawsuits, but it is against the law to “grab” something that is not yours and encourage others to do the same.

I don’t know who Ambrose is referring to — perhaps the FBI. For me, common sense says the FBI’s 37,000 law officers didn’t wake up one day and all decide to “get” Trump.
