Beaverton, Ore., police detectives arrested Thursday a Vancouver lawyer on suspicion of firing a gun at another lawyer’s office late December.

According to the Beaverton Police Department, Erik Graeff, 42, was arrested and booked into the Washington County Jail on suspicion of six counts of unlawful use of a weapon and one count of reckless endangering. Graeff is licensed to practice law in Oregon and Washington, and his offices are in Oregon.

The arrest comes after officers responded to a call about gunshots the evening Dec. 21. They arrived to find shell casings and bullet strikes on a nearby building. The building was occupied, but no one was hurt, the police said.

On Thursday, Vancouver and Beaverton police searched Graeff’s office and home, and seized two guns and ammunition as evidence.

The Beaverton police said Graeff had an ongoing dispute with another attorney, which led to the shooting. The shooting occurred at the other lawyer’s business.

Beaverton police detectives were seeking tips in this case, and asked anyone with helpful information to contact Detective Chad Opitz at 503-526-2674.
