The Clark County Medical Examiner has determined that a man found dead early Saturday morning in Vancouver’s Image neighborhood died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds. The death has been ruled a homicide.

Officials are trying to contact the man’s family and said it is still too early to identify him.

Police responded to reports of shots fired shortly after 4 a.m. near the 12500 block of Northeast 28th Street. Officers found the man’s body in the area, according to a Vancouver Police Department press release.

Police said in the release that no suspect information was available, but detectives did not believe there was a threat to the public. Police department spokeswoman Kim Kapp said in an email Thursday that those aspects of the case remain the same.

Witnesses have been interviewed, Kapp said, and detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the shooting.

No suspects have been identified, she said.

The spokeswoman said no threat to the general public typically means “the crime is not considered random and there are likely some factors that led to the crime, which is what is still being investigated.”
