Columbia River’s Rob Mead set a meet record and challenged another at the Southwest Washington Invitational in Longview on Saturday.

Mead won the 100-yard backstroke by more than four seconds in a meet-record time of 51.92 seconds.

Mead added another 2A state-qualifying time by winning the 100 freestyle in 47.79 seconds. The 16-year-old meet record is 47.61.

Mead also helped Columbia River swim 2A state-qualifying times in the 200 free and 400 free relays.
