Construction is underway on a new, 10,500-square-foot Goodwill in Orchards.

As first reported in December, this new, fully fledged retail store will be its sixth in Clark County. The store will be staffed by 40 workers and boast a drive-thru donation area and three loading docks to handle people’s donated clothes, furniture, toys and other goods.

This latest store will be about medium-sized, said Goodwill Industries Spokeswoman Dale Emanuel, but she expects a large amount of donations to run through. She said Clark County is one of the most giving areas, and last year gave more than 33 million pounds of goods across 540,000 donations.

The new location will also include a Goodwill Job Connection office, which offer career services, including classes and help making resumes. “It helps anybody with an inability to find work in a really competitive job market,” Emanuel said.

No opening date has been announced but Emanuel said they are hoping to launch in December.
