A man suffered significant burns Saturday evening when a recreational vehicle caught fire in northeast Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

The fire was reported by multiple callers at about 8:50 p.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart Supercenter at 14505 N.E. Fourth Plain Blvd., said fire Capt. Raymond Egan.

Arriving crews began attacking the fire but shifted to patient care after finding that one of the occupants of the RV had suffered significant burn injuries, Egan said.

The man was transported to Legacy Oregon Burn Center in Portland.
