A Battle Ground woman was taken to the hospital Friday night after allegedly driving off northbound Interstate 5 and striking a semi-tractor trailer parked on the shoulder, according to a report from the Washington State Patrol.

The collision occurred near near milepost 7 on I-5 at about 9:45 p.m. Friday, when Erica Redthunder, 32, drove onto the shoulder in her Toyota 4Runner and struck the rear trailer of a double trailer parked along the highway, according to the state patrol report.

Redthunder was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center for treatment. Her condition is unknown. No other injuries were reported. The tractor trailer was unoccupied when the collision occurred, according to the report.

The state patrol arrested Redthunder for driving under the influence.

The Toyota was totalled and towed away. The semi and trailers also were towed from the scene.
