Letter: Get to know Carolyn Long

By Don Howard, Camas
Published: March 21, 2018, 6:00am

Wouldn’t it be nice to have access to our 3rd District representative? I had the privilege of meeting Carolyn Long at her Camas town hall. I found her to be caring, intelligent, witty, knowledgeable on issues, and personable.

Long supports people over politics and is willing to listen and discuss issues with those who agree or disagree and she’s promised to continue town hall meetings even after elected. Our current Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, supports the minority through her party votes then hides behind telephone meetings to avoid those who disagree with her.

If you haven’t met Long, attend one of her town halls. You won’t be disappointed.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
