Mountain View — Mountain View High School junior Hannah Callan, 16, spent a week in Olympia recently, working as a page for the Washington state Senate at the Capitol. She was one of 30 students who served as senate pages for the eighth week of the 2018 legislative session. Callan was sponsored by Sen. Lynda Wilson. Pages transport documents between offices, deliver messages and mail and spend time in the Senate chamber. They also attend page school to learn about parliamentary procedure and the legislative process, as well as draft their own bills and engage in a mock session. Students interested can learn more at www.leg.wa.gov/Senate/Administration/PageProgram.
