Ilani will open big event center with big names

Some big entertainers in comedy, country and ’90s-style dance grooves are coming to Clark County to celebrate the opening of the Ilani Casino Resort‘s immense ballroom and event venue in April.

At 22,000 square feet, Ilani’s new Cowlitz Ballroom is shaping up to be the largest in Clark County. The nearest runner-up is the Heritage Ballroom at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, which is 14,074 square feet. Nothing else in Clark County comes close.

Body found in Camas home; victim’s boyfriend sought

Police are looking for the victim’s boyfriend after a family member arrived at a home in Camas on Sunday to find a woman’s body.

Camas Police Department spokeswoman Officer Debra Riedl said a family member arrived at a home in the 2100 block of Northeast Everett Street around 1:30 p.m. and found the woman’s body.

Vancouver man, 59, accused in ‘Pokémon Go’-related assault

A 59-year-old Vancouver man has been arrested on suspicion of assault and property damage for allegedly getting into a fight with three people at Vancouver’s Burnt Bridge Creek Trail over a “Pokémon Go” battle.

Stephen P. Jolly faces charges of second- and fourth-degree assault and third-degree malicious mischief, according to a probable cause affidavit. Jolly made an initial appearance in Clark County Superior Court on Wednesday. His arraignment is set for Thursday.

Clark County outpaces Multnomah County for new residents

As a suburb, Clark County is typically inferior to that big city across the Columbia River — at least numerically. We’ve got fewer people, fewer jobs, fewer vegan restaurants, fewer lines in front of those restaurants and no claim to fame for our naked bike rides or monstrous bookstores.

But last year, Clark County gained more people than Multnomah County, Ore.

Condo tower on Waterfront Vancouver taking reservations

Restaurants, offices and apartments are on the rise at The Waterfront Vancouver. Now a luxury condo tower two years from opening is taking reservations.

Kirkland Tower, a 12-story condominium building, will include one-, two- and three-bedroom units ranging from 1,000 square feet to more than 3,000. Plans are for 40 units.
