Nominees for Week 9 fall sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Nov. 3.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

AUGUST ALBERS, CEDAR TREE CLASSICAL BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Albers placed sixth overall in the Class 1B race at the state meet in 16:44.

JULIA CASH, COLUMBIA RIVER GIRLS SOCCER: Cash score a goal in each of the Chieftains district playoff victories, leading River to district title.

AMELIA PULLEN, WASHOUGAL GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Pullen captured the Class 2A state individual championship (18:04) at the state meet in Pasco.

BRYANNA UNGS, LA CENTER GIRLS SWIMMING: Ungs won the 200 individual medley (2:14.16) and the 100 breaststroke (1:05.89) at the 2A-1A district meet in Hoquiam.

EMMA VILLALUZ, CAMAS VOLLEYBALL: Villaluz averaged 15 kills, 18 assists, nine digs and three aces over three wins as Papermakers clinched a state berth.
