Police are looking for a woman said to have stabbed her roommate while moving out of their Walnut Grove area home Tuesday night.

Clark County sheriff’s deputies were called to the home, in the 5700 block of Northeast 69th Street, around 7 p.m. for a report of an assault with a knife.

Sheriff’s Sgt. Chad Rothenberger said the suspect, Monique Jefferson, 44, was getting her things and moving out. She was embroiled in some kind of argument with the homeowner, who was having Jefferson leave.

The homeowner apparently was on her way to something as well, and when she tried to leave, Rothenberger said, Jefferson took a knife and popped a tire on her car.

When the woman got out of the car to confront her, Jefferson stabbed her in the arm, Rothenberger said. The woman was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Rothenberger said authorities were seeking Jefferson on suspicion of first-degree assault and malicious mischief. He said she was previously transient and may have gone to Oregon.

She’s been known drive a gray BMW X-5 SUV, with Oregon plate No. 345-KJV.
