Nominees for Week 2 fall sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Sept. 22.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

CADE BRINGHURST, RIDGEFIELD BOYS GOLF: After leading Ridgefield to a win at the Titan Cup, Bringhurst shot a 4-under par 33 at Tri-Mountain in a win over Hockinson.

HAILEY GROTTE, LA CENTER GIRLS SWIMMING: Grotte swam state-qualifying times in winning the 200 individual medley and 50 freestyle at a meet at Clark County YMCA.

MADDIE KEMP, CAMAS GIRLS SOCCER: Kemp had nine goals and three assists in three wins, including her 100th career goal.

AMELIA PULLEN, WASHOUGAL GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Pullen won the Division II race at the Bob Firman Invitational in Boise and set a course record at Alderbrook Park vs. Hockinson.

KATIE VROMAN, PRAIRIE VOLLEYBALL: Vroman had 22 kills, 14 digs, 4 aces and 3 blocks in a five-set win over Battle Ground, and another 8 kills and 5 digs vs. Evergreen.
