Residents can bring leaves for free disposal at any one of four drop-off sites this year.

The fall leaf coupon program, managed by the city of Vancouver and Clark County Public Works, aims to reduce leaves that clog stormwater drains and cause flooding.

Coupons are good between Oct. 1 and Dec. 31. Up to 5 cubic yards can be disposed for free. Disposal of branches and other yard debris, however, is not free. Usual rates apply.

Coupons are available in the Waste Connections recycling newsletter, which is sent to all Clark County households, or online at cityofvancouver.us/solidwaste or clark.wa.gov/public-works/leaf-disposal.

Coupons are also available at Vancouver City Hall, city of Vancouver Utility Services and other city offices.

Vancouver homeowners are responsible for managing leaves from their trees. The city does not pick up leaves or offer a fee service to remove fallen leaves. It is unlawful to blow or rake leaves into the street.

Leaves are accepted at H&H Wood Recyclers, McFarlane’s Bark, Triangle Resources and West Van Materials Recovery Center. Each location sets its own hours.

H&H, 8401 N.E. 117th Ave., is open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday in October and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday in November and December. Sunday hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the duration of the program.

McFarlane’s, 8806 N.E. 117th Ave., is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. In December, McFarlane’s is closed on Sundays.

West Van Materials Recovery Center, 6601 N.W. Old Lower River Road, is open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.,Saturday. It is closed on Sundays.
