A developer has submitted a preliminary application to build a 35,000-square-foot warehouse in east Vancouver that would serve as a freight transfer station for a trucking company.

The 5.34-acre site is on Northeast 152nd Avenue near the intersection with Northeast 62nd Street. The area is zoned light industrial; the site is currently undeveloped.

The building will include a small office space for the trucking company and a 5,000-square-foot maintenance shop, with the remainder of the space devoted to parking for trucks and trailers.

The trucking company tenant is not named in the pre-application document. The preliminary application was submitted by PLS Engineering on behalf of applicant Northwest Warehouse and property owner Peak Development Group. A pre-application conference with the city has been scheduled for 9 a.m. Aug. 8.
