Girls basketball: Heritage 45, Centennial (Ore.) 19

Keanna Salavea scored a game-high 14 points and Katie Peneueta added 10 points, 10 rebounds and six assists as the Timberwolves advanced to the championship game of the Vince Dulcich Holiday Tournament in Astoria, Ore.

Heritage (5-5), which has won four in a row, will play either Astoria or Estacada in the title game at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Astoria High School.

“Our defense really came alive in the second half,” Heritage coach Jacob Kaler said. “We were able to mark their best player, which was good to see.”

Heritage led 19-12 at halftime, before pulling away.

Salavea added three rebounds and three assists.
