A Vancouver woman was injured Tuesday night in a rollover crash on Interstate 205.

Leanna M. Thompson, 28, was driving a 1996 Jeep Cherokee northbound and following a car ahead too closely, according to a Washington State Police press release. When the car ahead slowed, Thompson swerved to the right, struck a storm culvert, went airborne and landed on a retaining hill under the 18th Street bridge, the release said. The car rolled and came to rest on its wheels.

Two young children who were also in the car got out without injuries, according to the release. Thompson was extricated from the car by fire personnel and suffered serious injuries, Vancouver Fire Capt. Raymond Egan said.
Thompson was taken to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, according to the release.
