By , Columbian Web Editor

A serious injury crash closed the onramp from state Highway 500 west to Interstate 205 near Vancouver Mall on Friday afternoon.

Vancouver police and American Medical Response were called to Milepost 4.8 on the southbound onramp to I-205 at 1:41 p.m. Friday afternoon and quickly closed the onramp for the response and investigation, according to Washington State Department of Transportation.

The multi-vehicle crash involved a rollover, Washington State Patrol Trooper Will Finn said on Twitter. Two people were ejected from a vehicle with serious injuries.

According to emergency radio traffic monitored in The Columbian newsroom, they were transported to local hospitals.

WSDOT said there is no estimated time when the onramp will reopen and to use an alternate route.

Finn said detectives have been called to the crash scene.
