Girls basketball: Columbia River 69, Hockinson 50

Jordan Ryan scord a game-high 21 points as the Columbia River girls basketball team used a big second halft to win a key 2A Greater St. Helens League game, beating Hockinson 69-50 on Thursday night.

“They just wanted it more, it’s as simple as that,” Hockinson coach Damon Roche said. “We were only down one at half (26-25). But they came out and just play harder than we did.”

Ellie Christian added 14 points and Sydney Flores-Tucker had 10 for River, which moved into a tie for second in the league with Woodland at 5-4.

Jasmine Shigeno hit two 3-pointers, giving her 60 on the season and breaking Hockinson’s school record held by Payton Wangler.

HOCKINSON — Emma Dietel 13, Mackie Kelly 6, Gracie Brammer 5, Adyson Dyer 2, Jasmine Shigeno 6, Meggie Kistler 0, Addie Chappelle 2, Lillie Mueller 2, Kylie Ritter 14. Totals 19 (9) 3-8 50.
