Letter: For the love of money

By Paul Christensen, Vancouver
Published: July 12, 2019, 6:00am

Lou Brancaccio really messed up in his column “Can we eliminate goat bones?” (The Columbian, July 6). He left out the most important and key word in his biblical quotation. In 1 Timothy 6:10, which he was actually quoting, it is the “love of money which is the root of all evil.” Money is an exchange item only; it is the love of money which is the problem, which destroys our value systems because, as the Bible says, “No man can serve two masters.”

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
