Here are some of the top stories of the weekend:

East Vancouver Whole Foods to close in August

Vancouver’s only Whole Foods Market will close its doors in about two months. Employees told customers on Friday that the Whole Foods near 164th Ave and Mill Plain Blvd will shut down on or around Aug. 18, and will not be moving to a new location.

A store manager referred questions to the company’s media team, which later confirmed the closure in an email to the Columbian.

Two dead in apparent homicide-suicide in Amboy

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit is investigating what appears to be a homicide-suicide at an Amboy residence.

Deputies responded about 7 p.m. Saturday to 24707 N.E. 419th St., for a report of a possible homicide. Upon arrival, they found the bodies of two males; both appeared to have been fatally shot, according to a news release issued Sunday morning.

Vancouver man dies in single-vehicle crash near Battle Ground

A 24-year-old Vancouver man died Thursday night when his car veered off state Highway 503 and struck a tree.

Washington State Patrol troopers are continuing to investigate what caused Josef Watson to crash, according to a press memo.

Do yourself a favor, try El Buen Gusto

Why: El Buen Gusto has been open for two years serving authentic Mexican favorites. The family owned and operated restaurant may not have a big menu compared with many other Mexican cuisine restaurants in Clark County, but what they do offer might impress diners even more.

What I tried: My dining companions and I settled on the chicken tamales and tacos. We selected the asada, pollo and pastor tacos made with homemade tortillas.

Quick aid helps kindergartner after fall from monkey bars

CAMAS — Dorothy Fox Elementary School kindergartner Aubrey Taylor was playing at recess Wednesday when she fell off the monkey bars, hitting her head and back.

Aubrey had a seizure after she fell. Paraeducator Don Holmes was one of the first staffers to rush to her aid while others called an ambulance and her parents. Her mother, Jen Taylor, was close enough to get to the school and ride in the ambulance with Aubrey.
