Out and About: CCA annual banquet set for May 10

Tickets are still available for the Southwest Washington chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association 12th annual fund-raising banquet to be held on Friday, May 10. It will be held at the Clark County Event Center at the Fairgrounds.

There will be auctions, raffles, and games. Items to be auctioned include a stay at a Mexican villa, a private crawfish boil, artwork, fishing gear, fishing trips, a bear hunt in Idaho, and more.

The money raised will be used to protect marine resources in Washington.

The event starts at 5 pm. Tickets are $75 per person or $140 for couples. An annual CCA membership is included in the ticket price. For tickets or more information, call 360-694-4300 or go online to http://www.ccawashington.org/SWWA

The club’s monthly members meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the Camas Meadows Golf Club.

Long Beach Surf Perch Derby May 18

The annual Long Beach Surf Perch Derby will be held Saturday, May 18. Interested anglers can register via mail or on the day of the derby. The registration, mandatory sign-in, and weigh-in booth is on the north end of the Bolstad Beach Approach in downtown Long Beach.

There will be cash prizes for winners of the team and individual competitions.

Flyfishers to meet May 15

The Clark-Skamania Flyfishers will hold their monthly members meeting on Wednesday, May 15 at Camas Meadows Golf Club.

The public is invited and families are welcome. “Wet Fly Hour” is from 6 to 7 p.m. The meeting will run from 7 to 9 p.m.

WDFW Director hosts webinar

Kelly Susewind, director of Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW), will host a virtual open house on Monday, May 13. The event will give the public a chance to ask questions about the department’s policies.
