Vancouver police arrest fugitive, seize firearms, drugs

Vancouver police arrested a wanted man Sunday and seized multiple firearms, methamphetamine, cocaine and drug paraphernalia from his motel room and vehicle, according to a department news release.

Detectives from the Neighborhood Response Team, U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force, Southwest Washington Regional SWAT Team and Vancouver patrol learned that a wanted man, identified as Daniel Gene Hoffman, was staying at a Vancouver motel, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

SWAT team members intercepted Hoffman as he was preparing to leave in his vehicle and took him into custody.

Officers said they found a loaded firearm on Hoffman. After obtaining a search warrant for his motel room and vehicle, officers seized another pistol, a shotgun, tactical equipment, holsters, ammunition, 2.2 pounds of methamphetamine, 0.25 ounces of cocaine, and drug paraphernalia and materials used for distribution, the news release states.

Hoffman was booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, possession of cocaine with intent to deliver, resisting arrest and two outstanding felony warrants.
