Brooke Grosz found a great time to get her first hat trick of the season.

The Hockinson senior scored three goals as the Hawks won at White River 3-0 in the 2A state quarterfinals on Saturday.

Hockinson (15-6-1) became the third 2A Greater St. Helens League team to join the state semifinals after Ridgefield and Columbia River won their quarterfinals earlier Saturday.

The Hawks will take on Ridgefield (18-4-0) in the 6 p.m. semifinal Friday at Shoreline Stadium in Shorecrest.

Columbia River plays Selah in the other semifinal.

Grosz scored her first goal against White River with an assist from Grace Abbott with 36 minutes left in the first half.

The second goal came with 24 minutes to play in the game, assisted by Kendall McGraw off a free kick.

Four minutes later, Grosz added her third goal with an assist from Ellie Seekins.

Ridgefield won both regular-season matches against Hockinson, 4-0 and 2-0.
