LONGVIEW  — Oregon authorities have identified the man killed in a suspected accidental shooting while hunting near the Washington state line.

The Longview Daily News reported that Columbia County Sheriff’s Office identified 63-year-old Martin Fox of Portland.

County deputies, Washington state police and other agencies responded Saturday to a report of shooting.

Authorities say the shooting occurred in the hills near the Scappoose Vernonia Highway north of Portland.

Authorities say Fox was found with members of the hunting party performing CPR on him, but he later died at the scene.

Authorities say foul play is not suspected in his death.
