A developer has submitted a preliminary application to build a new mini market at 12106 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., about a half-mile east of Interstate 205.

The project would include the demolition of an existing building on the site, to be replaced by the new market building. The old building appears to be a residential home that was converted for commercial use. Google Street view photos show that it began operating as a candy store around 2015 and switched to a tailor shop around 2017. It is currently vacant, according to the project’s pre-application packet.

The proposed convenience store building would be approximately 3,000 square feet including the sales floor, storage area and a restroom. The project narrative also describes a patio area with chairs and tables on one side of the building.

The pre-application packet was submitted Oct. 9 by COR Inc. of Portland on behalf of property owner Sukhmoney. A pre-application conference with the city of Vancouver is scheduled for 11 a.m. Nov. 7.
