Letter: Trump’s tune is off-key

In response to Roy Schimelpfenig’s hilarious story (“Leftist hypocrisy tiring,” Our Readers’ Views, Oct. 14), just know that we liberals are tuned into our record players all day long. We watch the morning news, hear Donald’s latest tirade then listen to The Rolling Stones’ “Lies.”

As the next White House associate resigns (hmmm, about 1,000 so far) it’s The Animals’ “We Gotta Get Out of This Place.” And as the next election nears, three-quarters of Americans will blast The Who’s “Won’t Get Fooled Again.” In 2008, when an ignorant New York businessman repeatedly lied about Barack Obama and where he was born, I cued up Bruce Springsteen’s “Born In the U.S.A.” I suspect that Mike Pence begins many days with “I’m With Stoopid.” And we liberals end each day, hopeful for the return of our great country, with Elvis Costello and “Peace, Love and Understanding.”

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
